Post-Graduate or Career

You are on this page because you are interested in pursuing a post-doctoral, commonly known as a "post-doc," or are thinking of entering the workforce, whether it be academia or industry.

A post-doc is a temporary position (1-3 yrs) where a PhD graduate continues their research training and in some cases also has a temporary academic appointment. A post-doc is another stepping stone in the academic journey. Pursuing a post-doc is not required in all fields, but it has become increasingly more common as the amount of available faculty positions has decreased.
